Head of Taiwan and Hong Kong/Facebook
As Head of Taiwan and Hong Kong at Facebook, Yu manages the company’s growth in
these markets, and spearheads strategic relationships with global brands, agencies and
partners for Facebook’s advertising platform. She also leads strategy across a functional
team including sales, marketing, measurement and creative. Based in Taiwan, Yu
reports to Jayne Leung, Vice President, Head of Greater China at Facebook.
A veteran of the technology sector with more than 17 years of multinational experience,
Yu was previously the Head of Travel and Finance for Greater China at Facebook,
where she focused on overseeing Facebook’s sales and business development of the
travel and finance verticals in Mainland China, Hong Kong and Taiwan.
Yu is passionate about helping women succeed, and cares deeply about helping women
overcome barriers to reaching their full potential in the business environment. She was a
pivotal driving force behind the #SheMeansBusiness program launch in Taiwan to
support, celebrate and empower women entrepreneurs and women-owned businesses.
As an industry veteran who has experienced first-hand the transformative power of
technology and innovation, Yu is also passionate about helping businesses grow and
succeed by leveraging technology and honing their digital knowledge. Under her
leadership, Facebook in 2017 successfully launched Made by Taiwan, a project that
aims to bring Taiwanese brands to the world stage.
Yu is a native Taiwanese and possesses all-around leadership experience in Greater
China – she has been based in Beijing, Hong Kong and Taiwan where she delivered
success in top global technology companies. Prior to Facebook, Yu served Google for
eight years, first as Head of Agency Greater China, then as Head of Travel and Gaming
Business for China, and most recently as Deputy GM of Google Taiwan. Earlier in her
career, Yu held a senior sales role at Microsoft with responsibility for online sales and
